Introduction
The Government of India has undertaken an ambitious project to support patent claims based on Indian Traditional Knowledge. This initiative is a collaboration between the Council of Scientific Research and the Central Council for Research in Ayurveda & Siddha. The goal is to digitize approximately 35,000 phrases found in 14 classical Ayurvedic textbooks, transforming this knowledge into a patent-compatible format. This project involves a team of 30 Ayurveda experts, 5 Information Technology experts, and 2 Patent observers. The digital library will contain digital records encompassing international patent classifications, traditional knowledge resources, Ayurvedic terminology, general information, illustrations, classical terminology, formulations, disease conditions, and references to documents.
