We have identified and qualified a number of peptides that target changes in the appearance of skin associated with the aging process. Anti-aging skin benefits often based on the skin's natural healing process and much of the anti-aging aspect of our peptide library has been derived from the screening processes associated with our pharmaceutical wound healing programs. These peptides target improvement in the appearance of aging skin such as age-related skin characteristics: lines and wrinkles, loss of elasticity, loss of firmness and definition, appearance of darkened areas or general unevenness of skin tone, rough texture, and thinning of the skin.
PALMITOYL HEXAPEPTIDE-14
Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14 is a short bioactive peptide modified with palmitoyl for enhanced delivery and has proven to stimulate collagen production, stimulate proliferation of fibroblast cells and inhibit skin damaging MMPs. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while eliminating dull and dry skin by rejuvenating and restoring tissue building processes.
The body's own defense peptides boost the innate immune system and have been shown to have a number of immunomodulatory functions including altering host gene expression, acting as chemokines and/or inducing chemokine production, inhibiting lipopolysaccharide induced pro-inflammatory cytokine production, promoting wound healing, and modulating the responses of dendritic cells and cells of the adaptive immune response. The boosting of such aspects of healthy skin are the same as are required for younger less wrinkled skin.
In independent studies Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14 has been shown to be non-cytotoxic, non-mutagenic, non-irritating and non-sensitizing.
Panel testing: A twelve week human panel test demonstrated that Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14 is equivalent to RENOVA® (0.05% tretinoin) in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with none of the irritation and redness caused by retinoid based products. While treatment with Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14 was completely non-irritating, over one quarter of the panelists complained of irritation with RENOVA®. Data on file

HEXAPEPTIDE-21
Hexapeptide-21 is a short bioactive peptide designed to stimulate collagen production and fibroblast proliferation helping to rebuild the extra-cellular matrix damaged by the aging process. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while reviving overall skin health.
Heptapeptide-7
Heptapeptide-7 helps defend against deterioration of the dermo-epidermal connection caused by aging and replenishes this layer of the skin by boosting formation of keratinocytes and promoting cell adhesion and migration resulting in a more compacted epidermis and more radiant, firm skin.
As we age, the bond between epidermal cells and the basement membrane (dermo-epidermal junction) starts to weaken and leads to many of the functional and structural changes normally associated with aging skin. Keratinocytes in the epidermis are held in place by laminin which also decreases with age. As a result, skin loses elasticity and becoming saggy and tired. Heptapeptide-7 helps restore these processes to normal function for healthy, vibrant-looking skin.
