Gastric Mucin
Uses and Administration
Gastric mucin is a high-molecular-weight glycoprotein precipitated by alcohol (60%) after digestion of hogs' stomach linings by pepsin and hydrochloric acid. It is used in artificial saliva formulations for dry mouth as an oral spray containing 3.5% or as lozenges.
